Pima County AssessorPima County Assessor Record Maps

The Pima County Assessor's Office is converting from paper maps to electronic maps. As a result, each Assessor's Record Map is stored in one of two basic formats, depending on the source of each specific map. You need appropriate software to view any of the formats online.  If you experience problems viewing any of the below map formats; it is recommended that you read all instructions below prior to downloading any of the plug-ins.

Each Assessor's Record Map is in one of these formats:

·         TIFF format (Tagged Image File Format) is a compressed format commonly used to store images of scanned documents. Scanned documents on this site are in TIFF format.

You can view TIFF files directly on the web by using a web browser plug-in or helper application outside of your web browser. Most of these options let you view the images with pan and zoom capability. A TIFF viewer plug-in lets you view the image in your web browser. This site was designed to work best with viewing solutions integrated with your web browser. Any of these options can be used with the TIFF images on this web site. Macintosh users should see Viewing TIFF Images on a Macintosh. Your internet browser should be able to handle this without problems.  Download and install a TIFF image viewer plug-in to view the scanned maps.

·         AutoCAD drawing formats store electronic maps (DWG files).  DWG files are the standard format that AutoCAD uses to save drawings. They contain all the drawing information, including information not needed to simply browse the image. There are several ways to view DWG files on the web, including:

Download and install http://www.kamelsoftware.com/.  FastLook Plus 11.0 allows viewing AutoCAD DWG files. The "FastLook Plus 11.0" demo version is free.

·         Printing Assessor Record Maps

If printed pages from the Assessor are truncated on the right, set your printer options to use landscape paper orientation. You should also set "Options" to "Print to fit page" if right side of map is truncated.  To print from the Pima County Assessor's Office web pages using Netscape, you may need to set Netscape's Black Text option. Follow the Netscape menus File, Page Setup... and then check "Black Text". Or set "Always use my colors, overriding document" under Edit, Preferences, Appearance, Colors .

There are several tabular ways to find an Assessor's Record Map.

·         Show the Assessor's Record Map for a Parcel by entering the parcel code. Your entry must be an 8 digit numeric & last digit alpha/numeric for a total of 9 places in the parcel code {Book-Map-ParcelSplit} Examples:
   101010020 (TIFF format),
   101060130 (DWG format: Subdivision - Map/Plat),
   10106001F (DWG format: Township/Section)

·         You can also go directly to DWG formatted maps if you know its name or location. See the Pima County Assessor's Map Library and drill down from township to section or to a subdivision by map/plat.
